What Is Passion Week?
Passion week is a special time of year on the Christian calendar. This week focuses on Jesus’s triumphal entry on Palm Sunday, his crucifixion on Friday, and his subsequent burial and resurrection.
The next question you may be wondering: Why is it called Passion Week?
This week is referred to as the “Passion Week” because we clearly see Jesus’s passion to willingly suffer as the wrath-bearing substitute to save His people on the cross.
However you celebrate this week, remember that Jesus lived a perfect sinless life that you could never live (we call this his active obedience) then he willingly went to the cross to suffer and die in the place of those that would repent and trust in Him.
Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12
