The Importance of Celebrating
God’s redemptive plan was so meticulously designed that we can often overlook God’s careful detail and planning around feasting and festivals.
Consider that in Heaven we will participate in a great celebration called: “The Wedding Feast of The Lamb”. Even on the night he was betrayed Jesus celebrated the Passover instituted in Exodus of which he was the Antitype/fulfillment.
God’s plan for our lives here can and should include times of celebrating his grace and love for us while focusing on the gospel.
IMPORTANT: It can be tempting to want to incorporate feasts and festivals from the Old Testament for believers but I would caution against that (without strong grounding in the gospel to which they point) as Christ is the fulfillment of those shadows and types. We can rejoice in the freedom from the law and in Jesus redemptive work in our place.
Thanks for reading, what do you like to celebrate as a family?
