Get Wisdom - The Value of Proverbs
The book of Proverbs is becoming one of our family’s favorites. The reason for this is a desire for our Children to grow in wisdom to handle the day-to-day challenges of life.
Consider this section from Proverbs:
Blessed Is the One Who Finds Wisdom
13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding,
14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver
and her profit better than gold.
15 She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her;
those who hold her fast are called blessed. - Proverbs 3
Wisdom is truly valuable so what we have started to do is read the chapter from Proverbs as a family that corresponds with the day of the month. We then discuss any proverbs that stand out at lunch, or throughout the day. Sometimes, we discuss them at discipleship time at night. It doesn’t have to be a formal process the idea is to try to get everyone on the same page to be ready to discuss and grow in wisdom.
Thanks for reading!
